A 7mm PINFIRE MARIETTE'S PATENT POCKET REVOLVER, serial no. 1152, circa 1865, with blued two-stage 3 1/2in. barrel, dove-tailed fore-sight, octagonal barrel throat marked 'MARIETTE BTE.' over the serial number, thumb-wheel release barrel for loading, open iron frame with borderline and scroll engraving, solid recoil shield, engraved six-shot blued cylinder with raised pin protectors to rear, single action mechanism, square backed trigger guard and finely chequered rosewood grips flaring at heel, strong amount of finish remaining
